What Makes This Photo So Special?
On a windless morning, the surface turns to glass — and anything swimming just below it gets a mirror. This honu was cruising shallow, and its reflection hung above it like a ghost, doubling the turtle in perfect symmetry. I held my breath and shot from just under the surface, trying not to ripple the mirror. For a few seconds, there were two turtles, and only one of them was real.
