Pipiwai Trail
Into the Rainforest
Pipiwai Trail Wall Art | Maui Hiking Photography Print
The Pipiwai Trail is my favorite walk on Maui — four miles through bamboo forest, past banyan giants, alongside waterfalls, ending at the 400-foot Waimoku Falls. Every turn gives you something new: light shafting through bamboo, moss on everything, the sound of water everywhere. I shot this along the trail to bottle that feeling of being deep in the green, far from everything.
It is East Maui at its lushest — the road to Hana's crown jewel, all bamboo and waterfalls and dripping green. This is the Maui most visitors never slow down enough to see.
What Makes This Photo So Special?
Bamboo Forest Magic: Towering bamboo that creaks and sways, filtering the light.
Waterfall Country: The trail follows the stream past falls after falls to Waimoku.
Deep Green Calm: Kipahulu's rainforest is a different world from Maui's sunny leeward side.
Bring this rainforest walk into your home — the Pipiwai Trail's green cathedral, fresh and alive.
